Morgan Turner's goal in the 92nd minute leads DePaul to win over No. 14 Georgetown
CHICAGO – DePaul handed 14th-ranked Georgetown its first BIG EAST loss of the season in overtime as Morgan Turner's right footer went just inside the far post for a 1-0 victory at Wish Field. The win was the second of the season against a ranked opponent for the Blue Demons as they continued their push for the postseason.
A defensive battle ensued all afternoon as the two sides combined for just nine shots. Georgetown finished with five shots while DePaul managed four attempts. The Hoyas also totaled four corner kicks to a pair for the Blue Demons.
Following the 90 minutes of regulation, the Blue Demons didn't waste much time to end the match as Kristin Boos served the ball into the box that found a charging Turner. Turner held off a Georgetown defender and scored from the right side to just inside the far post to secure the win at 91:50.
The goal was Turner's eighth of the season and her third in the last two games as she scored a pair of goals against Seton Hall on Saturday.
Earlier this season, DePaul knocked off then-No. 11 Kansas, 1-0, at the Boilermaker Challenge Cup in West Lafayette, Ind.
