CHICAGO - A hard fought battle between Xavier and DePaul, two top seeds in the BIG EAST, ended in a 2-1 result in favor of the Musketeers Sunday afternoon by way of a last minute Xavier goal. DePaul moves to 7-7-3 and 4-3-1 overall while Xavier remains at the top of the BIG EAST with a 13-3-2 overall and 6-2 conference record.
While the first half was a defensive stalwart, the Musketeers managed to put themselves on the board just two minutes into halftime. Molly McLaughlin scored off a rebound off the goalpost to give Xavier the go-ahead goal.
In DePaul fashion, the Blue Demons put up a fight and found the equalizer in the 67th minute. Jade Eriksen-Russo caught a pass from Jessica Lazo at the far post to tap it past Olivia Jenkins to even up the score.

Both teams spent the rest of the match looking for the equalizer and Xavier found it in the 89th minute with a chip from Jenna Prathapa over Mollie Eriksson's head to take a 2-1 lead and the match.
DePaul was outshot 12-5 by Xavier, each with three shots on goal. The Musketeers also took a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.
