Women's Soccer Hosts Marquette Thursday
10/30/2019 6:08:00 PM | WOMEN'S SOCCER
CHICAGO - DePaul women's soccer will host Marquette in their final regular season match in a contest slated for Thursday at 3 p.m. on Wish Field. The Blue Demons hold a 7-7-3 overall record and sit 4-3-1 in BIG EAST play.
DePaul is seeking their eighth consecutive berth to the conference quarterfinals and can do so with a win or a tie. Should the match result in a loss, the Blue Demons can still get in with a Providence loss or draw. Hosting a first-round match is also a possibility with a final record better than that of Villanova.Â
LIVE COVERAGE
The match will be broadcast on the BIG EAST Digital Network. Links to watch and follow live stats can be found on the women's soccer schedule page.Â
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES
Marquette sits 6-10-1 on the season and 3-4-1 in the league, in a tie for fourth place. The Golden Eagles need a win to secure their spot in the quarterfinals, are out with a loss and can get in with both Providence and Creighton losses. Alyssa Bombacino leads the team with seven goals - akin to DePaul's Morgan Turner - for a squad high 15 points. Josie Kelderman has a team high three assists. Maddy Henry has started in 16 matches for Marquette, owns a 1.55 goals against average and has made 93 saves for a 0.775 save percentage.Â
SERIES STUFF
DePaul is behind in this all-time series 15-5-2 and has lost three in a row to the Golden Eagles. Last season, the two played to a scoreless draw in Milwaukee last season.Â
