Men's Soccer Earns Draw Against No. 5-Ranked Georgetown

CHICAGO - DePaul men's soccer battled to a hard-earned scoreless draw against the fifth-ranked Georgetown Hoyas on Friday afternoon on Wish Field. The Blue Demons sit at 4-5-2 overall and 0-1-2 in conference play. Georgetown holds a 7-3-1 overall record and a 1-0-1 conference record.
The Hoyas controlled most of the game leaving DePaul playing heavily on the defensive side of the match. The Blue Demons would defend 15 corner kicks compared to their two. They were also outnumbered in shots 24-2.
DePaul put up two shots on goal, both by Zach El-Shafei. The first one came in the 41st minute. Jacob Seeto would find a good chance and fire off a cross the second in the middle of the second period that sailed just wide of the goal.
Blue Demon keeper Drew Nuelle made eight saves against the Hoyas while Thomas Romero made just two saves for Georgetown.
