
DePaul Shuts Out St. John's, 2-0

CHICAGO - DePaul women's soccer played a hard-fought 90 minute battle against St. John's only to come out on top 2-0 on Sunday afternoon at Wish Field. The Blue Demons improve to 5-5-2 on the season and 2-1-0 in BIG EAST play while the Red Storm falls to 4-8-0 overall and 1-2 in conference.
DePaul came out hot, firing off 10 shots in the first half compared to St. John's zero. Ten of DePaul's 15 shots would be on goal forcing goalkeeper Meredith Reinhardt to make 8 saves on the day.
Using momentum from Friday's match against Butler, Morgan Turner notched her second consecutive match with a game-winning goal, this time coming in the 34th minute. Maria Nordness placed the ball perfectly at the top of the box for Turner to turn and strike the ball right into the net for a 1-0 lead.

After halftime, the Red Storm would outshoot DePaul 6-5 but Bina Saipi was able to get on the board with a goal in the 63rd minute. A Jackie Batliner cross would land right where Saipi could reach it and head the ball into the top left corner of the net.
