The Blue Demons fall in their second game of the day.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Blue Demons split day one of the Samford Tournament after a 6-0 loss to tournament host Samford. This is DePaul's first loss of the season, making its record 6-1.

Samford got on the board in the bottom of the first on a single to left center that advanced a runner home.

In the bottom of the third, Samford scored their second run of the evening due to an error at first base. A Samford homerun would widen the lead to 3-0.

Samford's final three runs would come from a two-run homerun in the bottom of the fourth and one last run in the bottom of the sixth.

The Blue Demons will partake in day two of the Samford Tournament tomorrow with a contest against Samford at 11:30 a.m. The Blue Demons Sunday game against Georgia State has been moved to tomorrow at 4:30 p.m.
