MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Blue Demons captured their second win of the day to top Belmont by a final mark of 2-1 in DePaul's final contest of Memphis Tournament play.
Natalie Halvorson owned the mound, pitching 5.1 innings for the win and allowed only one hit and one run. Krista Dalgarn entered the game for the save and tallied one strikeout in her 1.2 innings on the bump.
All of DePaul's offensive action came early in the game when both runners crossed home in the top of the first.
Angela Scalzitti singled down the left field line and advanced to second on a passed ball. Jessica Cothern then singled through the right side to score Scalzitti.
Cothern advanced to second on a wild pitch and would eventually cross home on a Gabby O'Riley single
Belmont put up their lone run on a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth.
