WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Blue Demons completed the series sweep of Georgetown in a decisive 12-4 victory that improved DePaul's record to 26-9 (6-1 BIG EAST) and dropped Georgetown's to 9-27 (2-6 BIG EAST).

Natalie Halvorson achieved her 15th win in the circle for the Blue Demons this season after holding the Hoyas to three hits and two runs.

The contest saw two home runs, with Kate Polucha launching her fifth of the season to match Jessica Cothern for second-most on the team and Maranda Gutierrez striking her sixth of the season to surpass Blue Demon offense.

Both teams remained quiet at the plate until the top of the fourth when DePaul scored three runs. Morgan Greenwood was walked and replaced by pinch-runner Madison Fisher before Kate Polucha soared out her second home run of the weekend to put DPU up 2-0. Gabby O'Riley and Gutierrez were walked and Skylor Hilger singled to load the bases. Alysia Rodriguez was then walked to force in the final run of the inning.

In the top of the fifth, Greenwood was hit by a pitch and O'Riley was walked before Gutierrez launched a three-run homer to grow DePaul's lead 6-0.

The Hoyas put up their first two runs in the bottom half of the inning.

DePaul would score one run in the top of the sixth as Erin Andris singled to shortstop and after advancing to second, was brought home on a deep double from Cothern.

A five-run seventh inning would see final burst of offensive momentum from DePaul for insurance. Polucha struck a leadoff double and scored on a single from O'Riley. Gutierrez then singled before her and O'Riley were brought home on a single from Andris. Angela Scalzitti then tripled to score Andris before being brought home on a wild pitch.

Georgetown would score its final two runs in the bottom of the seventh but would not come close to DePaul.
