The Mustangs struck early in the fifth minute with a successful free kick attempt by Celiana Torres from just outside the box. Junior Jade Eriksen-Russo placed two on goal and red-shirt junior Bina Saipi fired off three shots. DePaul as a whole forced SMU goalkeeper Tatum Sutherland to make seven saves. DePaul keeper Mollie Eriksson made five total saves in between the post.Â
At the last minute, Jessica Cooley would find Hannah Allred streaming up the right side of the field for the game-winner with just about 50 seconds left in the game to seal the deal for SMU.Â
