Blue Demons look to extend winning streak Saturday at UIC
CHICAGO – Don't stop now, guys.
That's the "Hawkish" sentiment as DePaul men's tennis shoots for its fifth win in a row on Saturday with a 2 p.m. match at Illinois-Chicago.
Coach Matt Brothers and his players are looking for their sixth win in the last seven outings.
Those aren't the only sustained stretches of excellence. No. 1 singles player and last week's Oracle/ITA National Player of the Week Vito Tonejc is set to extend his individual winning streak to seven-straight.
On Wednesday, Tonejc was honored as the BIG EAST Male Athlete of the Week for tennis.
His older brother Fran Tonejc and fellow senior Christopher Casati are primed for their fifth consecutive singles wins.
Back on Feb. 5, the Band of Brothers opened the dual-match season with a 7-0 sweep of UIC at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness.
They would like nothing better than to duplicate that performance on Saturday against a Flames team that has lost all seven of its matches. Â Â
