Blue Demons Head East for Villanova Matchup

CHICAGO, Ill. – DePaul women's soccer travels east for their last away match versus the Villanova Wildcats on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT. Fans can stream the game on the BIG EAST digital network on FloSports.

The Blue Demons (3-11-1, 1-6-1 BIG EAST ) arrive to Villanova, P.A. after drawing with Creighton 1-1 Thursday night. Junior forward Beth Smyth generated DePaul's lone goal of the game. Grace Phillpotts provided the assist with a corner kick to Smyth who headed the ball into the net. Goalkeeper Mollie Eriksson secured the draw for the Blue Demons with her fourth save of the match, stopping a last-minute attempt by the Bluejays in the 87th minute.

Villanova (3-8-3, 2-5-1 BIG EAST) hosts DePaul after they tied with UConn this past Sunday 0-0. The Wildcats have earned wins over Seton Hall, St. John's and Colgate so far this season.

The Wildcats and the Blue Demons are tied 9-9-1 in their all-time series. Last season, DePaul conquered Villanova 3-2 on Oct. 3, 2021.
