
Blue Demon Bats Quieted in 4-0 Setback to No. 8 Oklahoma State

DePaul tallied just one hit in the decision
STILLWATER, Okla. — DePaul could not get the bats going in a 4-0 setback to No. 8 Oklahoma State on Sunday morning. The Blue Demons tallied one hit and saw just three batters reach base in the final contest of the weekend.
Skylor Hilger tallied the lone hit for DePaul (7-11) with a single to right field in the top of the sixth inning. Tori Meyer drew a walk in the fifth and Carly Alvers reached on an error in the sixth but neither were plated.
Both squads were scoreless through the first two innings, before Oklahoma State (12-5) struck in the bottom of the third with a pair of base hits followed by a home run to left field to take a 3-0 lead.
The Cowgirls added a run in the bottom of the fourth after a walk and a single put runners on the corners before a groundout to second sent a runner across to make it 4-0.
Senior pitcher Erin Hocker fell to 1-4 on the season in the circle.
DePaul will travel to its final non-conference tournament of the season March 11-13 for the Montana Classic in Missoula, Montana. The Blue Demons will face Montana and Seattle twice in the three-day tournament.
