The Blue Demons held off by the Huskies

CHICAGO – DePaul women's soccer dropped a tough 5-0 decision to UConn, Thursday afternoon. The Huskies scored four first-half goals to build the early advantage and eventually secure three points in BIG EAST play.

DePaul (5-6-2, 1-4-1 BIG EAST) and UConn rushed the field at the start of the match, with each team putting up a shot within the first two minutes of the game. DePaul goalkeeper Elena Milam was able to hold the Huskies at bay, collecting three saves before UConn made its first connection in the 13th minute.

UConn (6-3-4, 3-1-2 BIG EAST) continued to lay on the pressure, generating another shot before managing back-to-back goals in the 23rd and 24th minutes of the game. The Huskies found the back of the net once again before the half, claiming a 4-0 lead heading into halftime.

In the second half, UConn managed one last goal in the 88th minute. The Blue Demons searched for a response, but were unable to answer before the end of the 90 minutes.
