Blue Demons visit queens for three-game series
CHICAGO – DePaul hits the road for its second BIG EAST series of the season with a visit to Queens, N.Y. and St. John's, March 24-26. Friday's schedule has been adjusted for a doubleheader beginning at 10 a.m. CT while Sunday's series finale is slated for 11 a.m. All three games will stream live on FloSoftball.

About DePaul
DePaul (8-14, 0-3 BIG EAST) heads to the Empire State looking to snap a six-game skid after going 0-2 last weekend at the John Cropp Classic in Lexington, Ky. Before falling to local foe Illinois State on Tuesday. The Blue Demons led for five innings at Marian Kneer Stadium, before the Redbirds used a 10-run sixth inning to claim a 10-3 victory in the 41st meeting between the two programs. Sophomore left fielder Addison Talbot tallied her first career home run in the setback while Brooke Johnson and Tori Meyer also added RBIs.
The Blue Demons are led by sophomore Anna Wohlers who is batting .361 on the season with 22 hits on 61 at bats while driving in 19 runs on a team-high six home runs. Johnson has added 13 RBIs on a team-best 23 hits while Meyer boasts 12 RBIs.
Bella Nigey and Brenna Smith have seen the majority of the innings in the circle, throwing 51.1 and 50.0, respectively. Nigey owns a 4.77 ERA and a 4-5 record while Smith is 2-5 through 13 appearances in 2023.
About St. John's
St. John's enters the weekend 10-13 overall and 2-1 as their series at Butler scheduled for a weekend ago was canceled due to weather. Last time out, the Red Storm claimed a 2-0 win over Stony Brook on Wednesday.
Sophomore London Jarrard has led the way for SJU with 21 hits, including 12 for an extra-base, to go along with 13 RBIs. Freshman outfielder Sydney Totarsky has burst onto the collegiate scene, ranking second on the team with 15 hits and 11 RBIs.
In the circle, Carolina Zamudio owns a staff-best 2.27 ERA while collecting seven wins in 14 appearances.
The Red Storm went 12-35 a season ago and were selected to finish ninth in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll.
Series Stuff
DePaul has dominated the all-time series with the Red Storm, 35-7. In 2022, the Blue Demons swept the series in Chicago, outscoring the Johnnies 34-9.
