Men’s Soccer Travels to No. 14 Georgetown Saturday Afternoon

Blue Demons face Hoyas at 12 p.m. CT in Washington, D.C.
CHICAGO – DePaul men's soccer begins a critical road stretch to close the regular season on Saturday, Oct. 26 with a visit to No. 14 Georgetown and Shaw Field. First touch from the nation's capital is scheduled for 12 p.m. CT.

Demon Doings
The Blue Demons will close out the regular season on the road with a match against Butler on Saturday, Nov. 2. Kick off from Indianapolis is set for 1 p.m. CT.

Demon Doings
- Headed into a pivotal stretch with postseason implications, DePaul is 5-6-3 on the year and 1-3-2 in BIG EAST play after battling to a 2-2 draw against Marquette on Wednesday afternoon at Wish Field.
- DePaul is having one of its best scoring seasons to date, boasting one of the best offenses in the league and the country, netting 1.86 goals per game which ranks second in the BIG EAST and top-40 nationally.
- The Blue Demons have scored 26 goals which is the most since the 2009 season (29 goals) in which current head coach Mark Plotkin was a senior for the scarlet and blue.
- DePaul's 25 assists on its 26 goals is third in the league and top 40 in Division I.
- A multitude of Blue Demons have been involved in the scoring, with 12 different goal scorers finding the back of the net in 2024, the most since the 2013 season (12).
- Sophomore midfielder Noeh Hernandez has shined for the Blue Demons with a team-best seven goals and seven assists, contributing to 53-percent of DePaul's goals on the season.
- Hernandez's 21 points is second in the league and 20th among all Division I players while his assist total ranks 22nd.
- Graduate forward Logan Finnegan is second on the squad with four goals in his final collegiate campaign while sophomore forwards Keagan Pace and Liam Mullins have tallied three goals apiece. Pace has added five assists to rank second on the team with 11 points.
- The sophomore trio of Hernandez, Mullins and Pace has combined to score half of DePaul's goals on the season while also distributing half of the team's assists.
- Goalkeeper Santiago Davila has started all 14 matches between the pipes, making a league-best 57 saves and two clean sheets to his credit.
- In the BIG EAST playoff picture, the Blue Demons are tied for ninth in the current standings with five points on the season. The eight-team postseason field is comprised of the top point earner from the respective East and Midwest Divisions followed by the next six teams with the most points at the conclusion of the regular season.
- The 14th-ranked Hoyas are 7-3-5 on the season including a 4-1-1 mark in conference action. Georgetown's lone league loss came against conference leader Akron on Sept. 28.
- Sophomore midfielder Matthew Van Horn leads the Georgetown squad with five goals on the season while Mitchell Baker and Zach Zengue own three and four tallies, respectively.
- The Hoyas have shutout 60-percent of their opponents this season led by goalkeeper Tenzing Manske who boasts a .55 goals against average and seven clean sheets in 2024.
- As a team, Georgetown is top-10 in the country in shots per game with 16.07. In a 3-3 draw against Villanova on Wednesday, the Hoyas outshot the Wildcats 30-8.
- Brian Wiese is in his 19th season leading the Hoyas and is the program's all-time winningest coach.
- Saturday will be the 14th meeting between the two programs with the Hoyas holding a 9-1-3 edge in the series.
- Last time the two squads met was on October 8, 2022 – a 1-1 draw at Wish Field.
- DePaul's lone win in the series came in Washington, D.C. on September 15, 2016, a 1-0 decision.
