DePaul Softball Travels to Northern Illinois for Tuesday Matchup

CHICAGO - DePaul softball heads to DeKalb, Ill. to meet Northern Illinois for a non-conference matchup, Tuesday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. CT with streaming set on the Northern Illinois website with coverage also available through StatBroadcast.

BLUE DEMON BITS

DePaul sits at 6-20 (2-4 BIG EAST) heading into Tuesday's matchup.
Brooke Johnson leads the Blue Demons offense in batting average (.446), home runs (8), on base percentage (.506) and slugging percentage (.878). Johnson's batting average ranks 28th in the country and her slugging percentage is good for 16th in the country.
Riley Pool is second on the team in batting average (.328) and leads the BIG EAST in sacrifice flies with 11 on the season. Pool's 11 sacrifice flies rank 11th in the country.
Brenna Smith owns a staff-best ERA of 2.85. Smith has thrown 52.1 innings giving up 51 hits while recording 31 strikeouts.

ABOUT NORTHERN ILLINOIS

The Huskies sit at 7-18 (1-5 MAC) after their second weekend of conference play.
Senior Ellis Erickson leads NIU's offense with a .400 batting average. Erickson has recorded 14 runs on 32 hits and ranks first on the team with a slugging percentage of .663.
Sophomore Danielle Stewart paces the Huskies in the circle, earning a 2.60 ERA over 62.0 innings pitched. Stewart owns a 4-6 record and has thrown four complete games.
Christina Sutcliffe is in her 12th season leading Northern Illinois.

SERIES STUFF
This will mark the 68th all-time meeting between the Blue Demons and the Huskies with DePaul owning the series, 41-25.
