CHICAGO – DePaul women's basketball is set to host Milwaukee on Saturday, Oct. 25 in its lone exhibition matchup of the season. Tipoff from McGrath-Phillips Arena is scheduled for 7:15 p.m., following Blue Madness, DePaul's annual preseason basketball event. Admission is free for both events.
Saturday's game will not be live streamed, but live stats will be available here.
DePaul is 5-0 all-time versus Milwaukee. The teams last faced off on Nov. 26, 2019.
The Blue Demons turn to a new chapter in the program's storied history as Jill M. Pizzotti took the helm of the program in April of 2025. While the 2025-26 season is her first as head coach, Pizzotti enters her 15th season at DePaul with years of service as assistant coach, associate head coach as well as interim head coach a season ago.
Senior guard Kate Clarke and graduate forward Meg Newman, both sidelined with injury to begin the season, headline the core group of returners that also includes junior guards Shakara McCline and Sumer Lee in addition to sophomore Natiah Nelson. Redshirt-freshmen Alayna West and Ally Timm return from season-ending injuries in 2024 and are expected to be immediate contributors.
Saturday's exhibition will be fans' first look at DePaul's seven newcomers including key transfers Kate Novik, a two-time all Ohio-Valley Conference performer out of Morehead State, as well as Delaware transfer forward Michelle Ojo. The frontcourt will be bolstered by 6-2 graduate transfer Justis Odom in addition to Chicago native Faith Okorie. Improved guard play will be noticeable for the Blue Demons with the addition of sophomore Devin Hagemann (East Carolina) and redshirt-junior Aizhanique Mayo (Xavier). Gina Davorija, a Glenview, Ill. native, is the lone true freshman on the 2025-26 roster.
Milwaukee, led by Kyle Rechlicz in her 14th season as head coach, was selected to finish ninth in the Horizon League preseason coaches' poll. The Panthers were 8-24 last season and are led by junior forward Jorey Buwalda who averaged 7.5 points and 4.9 rebounds per game as a sophomore. Milwaukee added seven newcomers in the offseason.
DePaul opens the regular season Nov. 4 when Valparaiso visits Wintrust Arena. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. with coverage carried on ESPN+
