DePaul Heads to Notre Dame for Non-Conference Finale

Blue Demons begin final week of the regular season in South Bend
CHICAGO – DePaul softball opens its final road swing of the 2026 season on Wednesday, April 29, traveling to South Bend, Ind., for a nonconference matchup against Notre Dame at Melissa Cook Stadium.Â
First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m. CT, with the game aired live on ACC Network.Â
Demon DoingsÂ
- DePaul enters the matchup with a 19-27 overall record and a 7-14 mark in BIG EAST play, coming off a 2-2 week including a victory over Illinois State before taking a game in the series versus Butler.Â
- The Blue Demons are hitting .284 as a team, their highest batting average since the 2022 campaign.Â
- Sophomore first baseman Chelsea Parker is powering the offense, launching three home runs over the last four games to bring her season total to a team-best 14. That mark is tied for the fourth-most in a single season in program history and ranks third in the BIG EAST this year.Â
- Junior outfielder Morgan Rogers leads the BIG EAST with 15 doubles, including three recorded in the last week.Â
- In the circle, senior Bella Nigey secured her third save of the season against Illinois State last Tuesday, the most by a DePaul pitcher since 2019.Â
Scouting Notre DameÂ
- Notre Dame enters Wednesday's contest with a 23-27 overall record and an 11-13 mark in ACC play after sweeping Boston College at home over the weekend.Â
- The Fighting Irish have faced a challenging schedule, taking on multiple ranked opponents this season and posting a 3-8 record in those contests.Â
- Freshman infielder Ava Zachary leads the offense with a .395 batting average, along with team highs in extra-base hits and RBIs with 17 and 28, respectively.Â
- In the circle, sophomore left hander Brianne Weiss holds an 11-8 record and leads the staff with 116 strikeouts, the fourth-highest total in the ACC.Â
- Head coach Kris Ganeff is in her second season leading the program after spending 23 years on the Notre Dame coaching staff.Â
Series StuffÂ
- DePaul leads the all-time series with Notre Dame 34-31-1. Â
- The teams last met a season ago, with the Fighting Irish earning an 8-0 six-inning victory.Â
